Thank you for joining us for this video series — this guide covers what to expect as we prepare to record together.
At a Glance
A two-person conversation recorded in a single session of approximately 45 minutes. We'll share topic areas and questions ahead of time, but the conversation itself is unscripted. We aim to film in a setting that reflects the participant's environment and context.
Production Process
Personal Presentation
Authenticity reads on camera. We want you to look like yourself — just a good version. Think of it the same way you'd prepare for a talk or presentation: put-together and intentional, but not overdone or out of character.
Hair & Makeup
Come camera-ready however feels natural to you. We won't have a hair and makeup artist on set, but we'll have oil-blotting sheets on hand to help manage shine under lights.
Apparel
Dress for your context — whatever represents you and your work well. A few things to avoid:
- Solid white tops or outer layers, which can overexpose on camera
- Fine stripes, checks, or tight patterns, which can cause a strobing effect (known as moiré)
The Conversation
Know your perspective, not your lines. The best conversations come from people who are thinking out loud - not performing.
Topical Prep
We'll share the topics and questions we're exploring ahead of time so nothing feels like a surprise. Spend some time thinking through your point of view and relevant examples — but don't rehearse word-for-word responses.
Think in Specifics
Concrete examples, decisions, and moments make for compelling conversation. If you're speaking about a technology or initiative, grounding it in a real case goes a long way.
Off the Record
We recognize the position these conversations put you in. If something is off the record, say so - we will respect it without exception.
